Thoughts & Healing Prayers for Recovery from Addiction
How to Know God Intimately
This book is about the author’s journey with addiction and finding faith despite having none.
It is about learning to believe that your faith has not led you astray even when you feel it has. The author demonstrates by sharing her life experiences that you can get through repeated hardship. You can do hard things. You can overcome it. You can learn to like yourself and grow to love yourself just the way you are in this moment.
And if you have no faith, it is about inquiring within yourself how you can get through life on life’s terms.
It is intimate and shares with you experiences from the author’s life. She shares the battle with the thoughts from her mind and how she’s learned to separate her thoughts from herself in order to live in reality.
She shares her continuous and ongoing effort to make it through today and how she’s learned to accept failures and disappointments. How she no longer pushes against reality. And that in reality there are beautiful moments, realizations and that peace can be found.
And how through her most traumatic experiences she’s noticed and felt the operation of a power within her life that she calls – Jesus stepped in and healed her back to health with his loving embrace and guidance.
About the Author

I was born in Georgetown, Guyana and migrated to Ontario in the late 80’s with my mother.
And, although, I had a passion for poetry and the arts, in 2006 I graduated as a law clerk from Sececa College. My desire to learn and grow led me to pursue my real estate licence from the real estate college in Ontario. However, the burning desire to write has always been inside of me and during Covid-19, I decided to pursue my dream of writing and helping others.
Despite a battle with addiction for many years, my faith has always been strong. I am always looking for the learning lesson in each situation and always looking for the angle of love. And am always encouraging others to search for the good as it is so often hidden from the torture that is addiction.
My motto is “work hard, play hard” and since a near fatal car accident in 2019, its “love hard”.
I am passionate about life, healing and living so when I am not working as a law clerk you can find me hiking, reading travelling, writing, in an arcade, walking my dog, being silent and still to feel the breeze on my face.
